Seth was a recent graduate of DH Conley High School and had aspirations of joining the US Navy. He was known for his kind-hearted nature and his ability to see the good in everyone. Seth's death was a significant loss to his family and friends, who remember him as a loving and caring individual.
The circumstances surrounding Seth's death were tragic.
On the evening of October 20, 2018, Seth was involved in a shooting incident at a Harris Teeter store located at 2120 East Fire Tower Road in Greenville. The shooting was the result of a dispute between individuals who were known to each other. An off-duty Greenville police officer was the first to arrive at the scene and provided first aid to Seth, who had sustained serious injuries from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts to save him, Seth succumbed to his injuries later that evening.
Following the incident, the Greenville Police Department launched an investigation into Seth's death. The investigation led to the identification and arrest of two suspects: Billy Earl Grizzard III, a 30-year-old male, and his girlfriend, Kellie Anne Moseley, also 30 years old. Grizzard was charged with an open count of murder for the shooting death of Seth Nicholas Street, while Moseley was charged with accessory after the fact in connection to the crime.
The arrest of the suspects was not without incident. On the evening of October 20, 2018, Beaufort County deputies received information about the whereabouts of Grizzard and Moseley. The deputies located the suspects in the Blounts Creek area and attempted to stop their vehicle. However, the suspects fled, leading to a pursuit that ended in Chocowinity. During the arrest, Grizzard was shot in the arm by a deputy. Both suspects were taken into custody and medically treated before being transferred to the Greenville Police Department.
The investigation into Seth's death continued, with additional charges being filed against the suspects. The deputy involved in the shooting was placed on administrative leave, and the incident was investigated by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations, following standard protocol.
