On October 8, 2024, in Greenville, North Carolina, 5-year-old Karter River Rosenboro tragically lost his life due to an accidental shooting involving his 6-year-old sibling. The incident occurred at the residence of their great-grandparents, where both children were present. Emergency responders arrived promptly and transported Karter to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
