He was a graduate of Carson High School and was pursuing a degree in cyber security at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Terence worked at Discount Tire, where he had risen to the position of assistant manager due to his hard work and dedication.

Terence was at his workplace, Discount Tire in Concord, North Carolina, when a verbal dispute escalated into a deadly standoff. The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Jeremy Spann from Lynchburg, South Carolina, entered the store armed with a gun. Spann, a convicted felon with a history of assault and felony probation violations, claimed to have had a bad experience at another Discount Tire location. The situation quickly turned violent, and Terence was shot and killed during the altercation.
The Concord Police Department responded to the incident with an armored truck and officers armed with rifles. After a nearly four-hour standoff, Spann surrendered to the police and was taken into custody. He was subsequently charged with multiple offenses, including murder and felony possession of a firearm. Spann was held on a $2 million bond and was scheduled to appear in court on December 7, 2020.
Terence's untimely death left a significant void in the lives of his family, friends, and coworkers. He was remembered for his positive attributes, his love for gaming, and his close relationship with his family.
