On January 28, 2024, at approximately 9:54 p.m., Concord Police Department officers responded to a report of a man lying in the road near the intersection of American Avenue NE and Madison Avenue NE in Concord, North Carolina. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found 33-year-old Jeramie Stefaun Forrest suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, Forrest was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an intensive investigation, authorities arrested two individuals in connection with Forrest's death. On February 13, 2024, 44-year-old Alfred Jerome Glascoe of Kannapolis was taken into custody and charged with murder and felony possession of marijuana. He is being held without bond in the Cabarrus County Jail. Additionally, 20-year-old Osyris Jimal Burnett of Kershaw, South Carolina, was arrested on the same charges and is awaiting extradition to North Carolina.
Jeramie Stefaun Forrest was born on April 20, 1990, in Baltimore, Maryland, and moved to Concord, North Carolina, at the age of seven. He was known for his dedication to family, his passion for healthcare—working as a Personal Care Attendant while training to become a Certified Nursing Assistant—and his involvement with the King Uzziah Lodge #225 of Landis, NC, where he held the position of Jr. Warden. Forrest was a devoted father and husband, leaving behind his wife, Theendra Little-Forrest, and children, Dominic Amir Johnson and Journie Kamille Forrest.
Funeral services for Forrest were held on February 23, 2024, at Barber-Scotia College in Concord, followed by burial at Rutherford Memorial Park.
