On August 3, 2024, in Concord, North Carolina, 33-year-old Jose Sanchez-Mata was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound at his residence on Plantation Road NW. The discovery followed a sequence of events initiated by his brother, 29-year-old Mario Sanchez-Mata, who approached deputies from the Rowan County Sheriff's Office, confessing to having killed his brother.
Upon receiving this information, the Rowan County Sheriff's Office promptly notified the Concord Police Department.
