In the fading light of a Sunday evening in Concord, North Carolina, on February 1, 2026, the life of 22-year-old Michael Harrison Overstreet was tragically cut short. A burst of gunfire outside the Brooke Pointe Manor apartment complex on Fairington Drive Northwest shattered the night, leaving Michael and another young man, 19-year-old Kemauri Blount, dead.
Two other individuals, both female, were also wounded in the violent encounter, struck by bullets as they sat in the back seat of a Honda Civic.

Nineteen-year-old Brandon Cortez Morris Jr. was taken into custody and faced a litany of serious charges, including two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Michael and Kemauri.
