Cedric Kirkland, a 28-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on January 29, 2021, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the northwest part of the city, where Cedric was found dead inside a wrecked GMC SUV that had collided with a tree. The initial investigation by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers revealed that Cedric had been shot while driving on LaSalle Street, leading to the fatal crash.
