Randall Stewart Feazell, a 28-year-old male, was tragically killed on July 4, 1979, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Feazell was one of five victims found shot to death inside an Outlaw Motorcycle Clubhouse on Allen Road South. The other victims included William Allen , William Droneburg , Bridgette Benfield , and Leonard Henderson . This incident is known as the worst mass murder in Charlotte's history.
The investigation into Feazell's death and the deaths of the other victims was
extensive. Initially, police identified Gregory Scott Lindaman and Randy Allen Pigg as persons of interest. Both Lindaman and Pigg were interviewed by police, but there was insufficient evidence to arrest or charge them at the time. Lindaman fled to San Bernardino, California, and was later arrested on an unrelated murder warrant. He was returned to Charlotte and questioned about the killings. Pigg was also questioned but was never charged.
Over the years, detectives continued to work on the case, following up on leads and gathering evidence. Lindaman died in a car accident in Houston, Texas, in 1990, and Pigg passed away from liver failure in 2007. In 2015, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced that they had identified Lindaman and Pigg as the suspects responsible for the killings. The case was officially closed by the "Death of Offender" ruling.
The tragic deaths of Feazell and the other victims stemmed from a dispute between one of the shooters and one of the victims. The investigation into this case highlighted the need for increased cooperation and information sharing among law enforcement agencies across the state.
