On the evening of Sunday, January 25, 2026, a sense of unease settled over a west Charlotte neighborhood as the sound of gunshots pierced the frigid air. John Glenn Martinez, a 26-year-old man, was in the area working as a food delivery driver for DoorDash. The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Elmin Street, near West Boulevard.
