Jordan Lee Gwynn, a 27-year-old male from Eden, North Carolina, tragically lost his life on June 27, 2021. The incident occurred on Dan River Church Road in Eden, where Gwynn and two others were shot while sitting on a porch. The shooting resulted in the deaths of Jordan Lee Gwynn and Alex Michael Grubbs, 29, while a woman was critically injured and transported to a nearby hospital.
The investigation revealed that the suspect or suspects began firing from the woodline near the home,
targeting the victims on the porch. Authorities do not believe the shooting was random. Following the incident, Darius Tremayne Brooks, a 31-year-old male from Eden, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Brooks was already being held at the Rockingham County Detention Facility on other charges and was given no bond for these new charges.
