Brandon James Rose, a 34-year-old male from Reidsville, North Carolina, was tragically killed on February 10, 2019, in Eden, North Carolina. The incident occurred at the Eden Inn motel, located at 213 S. Van Buren Road. At approximately 8:36 p.m., officers from the Eden Police Department responded to reports of gunshots fired into a vehicle. Upon arrival, they discovered Brandon James Rose dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Alongside him, 38-year-old Meghann Rose McKinney, also from Reidsville, was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Her condition at the time was unknown.
The suspect in the shooting was identified as 37-year-old Tim Caesar Blanks from Bassett, Virginia. Blanks was apprehended shortly before midnight on the same day by the Henry County Sheriff's Office. He was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Brandon James Rose and attempted murder of Meghann Rose McKinney. Blanks was held at the Henry County jail, awaiting extradition back to North Carolina.
The Eden Police Department expressed their gratitude to the Henry County Sheriff's Office for their assistance in apprehending Blanks and to the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office for their support during the investigation.
