On November 29, 2014, Darius Tyron Malloy, an 18-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in the parking lot of a shopping center located at 77720 North Carolina Highway 770 in Eden, NC. Authorities found Malloy lying on the pavement next to a 1985 Chevrolet truck, having been shot multiple times. The tragic incident occurred on a Saturday afternoon, and Malloy was pronounced dead at the scene.
