James Ray Watkins, a 37-year-old male from Eden, North Carolina, tragically lost his life on October 15, 2021. The incident occurred outside the AK Mart on Washington Street, where Watkins was found suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the immediate lifesaving measures initiated by the responding officers, Watkins succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Eden police were dispatched to the location following a weapons call reporting a shooting in the parking lot of the convenience store.
