Shawn Darnell Whren Jr., a 31-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 1, 2022, in Statesville, North Carolina. Shawn was found inside a home on Fifth Street near Winston Avenue after police responded to reports of gunshots around 4:15 a.m. He was transported to Iredell Memorial Hospital by Iredell County EMS, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
