Ricardo Pittman, a 35-year-old African American man, tragically lost his life on August 24, 2022, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was found by police at the Quik-n-Go convenience store at the corner of Murchison and Shaw Mill Roads around 3:30 a.m., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Despite being rushed to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Ricardo Pittman succumbed to his injuries later that morning.
The Fayetteville Police Department launched an investigation into
the shooting, and it wasn't long before they identified a suspect. Zavion Richburg, a 21-year-old man, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Ricardo Pittman's death. Richburg was apprehended near his home and is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond. The investigation revealed that the shooting occurred at the convenience store, but the motive behind the crime remains unclear.
