James S. "Jim" Leslie, a 38-year-old male journalist and public relations executive from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was murdered on July 9, 1976. Leslie, who was white, was shot in the parking lot of the Prince Murat Hotel in Baton Rouge. His death was described by the police as a "professional hit," and the case remains unsolved to this day.
