In the evening hours of Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Jackson, Mississippi, a burst of gunfire shattered the night, leaving a young man's life tragically cut short. Keegan Omari Roberts, a 24-year-old male, was killed in the shooting which occurred around 7:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Verbena Street. When Jackson police officers arrived at the scene of the violent encounter, they discovered Roberts had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the
shooting quickly unfolded, revealing that another individual, a juvenile, had also been injured during the incident. This juvenile was transported to a local hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
