In the winter of 2014, a domestic dispute in Jackson, Mississippi, escalated into a tragedy that claimed the lives of a father and his mother. On the evening of Wednesday, January 29, 2014, arguments erupted between 49-year-old Tyrone Liddell Sr. and his 20-year-old son, Tyrone Liddell Jr. The heated exchange ended in a burst of gunfire that left Tyrone Liddell Sr. and his 74-year-old mother, Bertha Lee Liddell, dead.
