Richard James Davidson, a 23-year-old police officer from Shreveport, Louisiana, tragically lost his life on January 2, 1987. Officer Davidson was shot and killed while he and other officers were searching a restaurant for a burglary suspect. The suspect, who was hiding in the bathroom, shot Officer Davidson as he opened the door. The suspect was subsequently shot and killed by other officers on the scene.
