On September 6, 2022, Jermaine Colston, a 32-year-old man from Shreveport, Louisiana, was found fatally shot in a hotel parking garage on Lake Street. Colston, who was African American, was pronounced dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to the head. The Caddo Parish Coroner's Office confirmed his identity through fingerprint comparison, and an autopsy was ordered.
