In May of 2004, Alan Thomas Waters, a 53-year-old male, was found deceased in his Baton Rouge, Louisiana, home. A chemical engineer and real estate investor, he had made Baton Rouge his home after moving from his native Wakefield, Massachusetts. An investigation into his death quickly focused on his ex-wife, Jan Waters.
