In the warm early evening of July 8, 2009, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the life of 20-year-old Darryl Wayne Every Jr. was tragically cut short. An African American male, Every was in the backyard of a home in the 4600 block of Dart Street, near Verdome Place, when he was shot multiple times just after 6 p.m. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the attack.
