Mark Payton, a 56-year-old resident of White Plains, was tragically shot and killed on April 8, 2020, in Yonkers, New York. The incident occurred inside the Palisade Towers complex on Schroeder Street. Police received an emergency call around 5:51 p.m. and found Payton unresponsive and bleeding profusely from a gunshot wound to his thigh. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
