In the early evening of April 8, 2020, a dispute outside the Palisade Towers apartment complex on Schroeder Street in Yonkers escalated into a fatal encounter for 56-year-old Mark Payton. A resident of White Plains, Payton was engaged in an argument with another man when the confrontation turned violent. The other individual, later identified as 53-year-old Eric Greer of Manhattan, allegedly drew a handgun and fired a single shot.
