Death by Force

Philip Chacko, a 67-year-old male of Indian descent, was tragically shot and killed on August 30, 2009, at approximately 9:40 p.m. at the Midtown Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Chacko, who had moved to New Orleans in 2007, was the owner of the hotel and was well-regarded for his efforts in rebuilding the city after Hurricane Katrina. He had renovated the hotel, which had been flooded with 43 inches of water, and was known for his strict policy of keeping out criminal elements.
