On a late summer day in New Orleans, what began as a routine workout for Christopher 'MERK' Joshua Mercadal ended in a tragedy that has left his family and community searching for answers. The 33-year-old man was exercising at the Aaaarchitect Institute, located in the 3900 block of Howard Avenue on the edge of the Gert Town neighborhood, on Monday, August 27, 2018.
