In the fall of 2014, the life of Donald Richard Nides, a 64-year-old retired New Orleans police officer, came to a tragic end. On November 5, 2014, Nides was found deceased in his River Ridge home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His death occurred in the midst of a federal trial where he faced serious accusations.
