On January 1, 2014, 31-year-old U.S. Army Sergeant Joseph Anderson was tragically shot and killed in Marrero, Louisiana. Anderson, who was on holiday leave, was killed moments after dropping off his three children at the home of relatives. The incident occurred in the 6100 block of Ray Street. Anderson's green Toyota 4Runner was later found ransacked about two miles from the scene.
