Lonnie Jeorge “Loso” Phillips, Sr., a 29-year-old Black man, tragically lost his life on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, in a shooting incident that occurred in New Orleans East. A graduate of George Washington Carver Senior High School, Phillips was a known entrepreneur in his community. He began his career as a DJ known as “DJ Flyboi Lonnie” and later, in 2016, obtained his barber license and became the owner of Fade City Barbershop.
He was a father to three children, Milan, Malaya, and Lonnie Jr.
The New Orleans Police Department and the coroner's office launched an investigation into the homicide. At this time, however, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The investigation into the death of Lonnie Phillips remains ongoing as authorities continue to seek information that may lead to a resolution in the case. His family and friends are left seeking justice and answers in the wake of his sudden and violent death.
