A 35-year-old man, Kevin Thomas Jr., was fatally shot on the afternoon of Friday, July 3, 2020, in the Central City neighborhood of New Orleans. The incident occurred in front of a Dollar General store situated in the 2800 block of South Claiborne Avenue.

Thomas sustained at least one gunshot wound in the deadly encounter. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, but despite their efforts, Thomas succumbed to his injuries. The Orleans Parish Coroner's office later identified him a ...
