In the lively atmosphere of a New Orleans Mardi Gras parade, a dispute turned deadly, claiming the life of 22-year-old Ivan Williams. On the evening of Thursday, February 12, 2015, as the all-female Krewe of Muses parade rolled down St. Charles Avenue, an argument broke out between two groups of young men. The festive air was shattered by gunfire, leaving two men fatally wounded. Williams and another man, 21-year-old Peter Dabney, were rushed to the hospital but succumbed to their injuries.
