On February 20, 2011, Warren Turner, age 27, was tragically killed in New Orleans, Louisiana. The circumstances surrounding Turner's death point to a growing problem with violence in the city, which has struggled with high rates of homicides for years. On that day, Turner was found with fatal gunshot wounds, becoming yet another victim of gun violence in the region.
