In the early hours of February 22, 2011, Boris Scott, a 53-year-old Black male, was found deceased in New Orleans. The initial discovery was made after a silver SUV he was in crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of North Miro and St. Philip streets. While first responders initially treated the scene as a traffic accident, it was soon discovered that Scott had sustained a gunshot wound.
