Peter Jr. Oatis, aged 22, was found shot to death near the Seabrook Bridge in New Orleans on November 2, 2017. Oatis had been reported missing after leaving his aunt's home in Algiers, where he mentioned that he was going to pick up dinner before heading to his apartment. He was not heard from afterward, and his body was discovered days later. There is speculation that his death might have been related to a carjacking.
