Alan Burl, a 37-year-old African American man from Laplace, Louisiana, was reported missing by his sister on November 2, 2015, after he hadn't been heard from since October 29, 2015. His body was discovered on November 12, 2015, in a wooded area along U.S. 51, north of Laplace. Authorities used dental records to positively identify the body as Alan Burl. His death was classified as a homicide.
