In March of 2016, the life of 27-year-old Kimberley Nicole Perkins, a White female from the area of Livonia, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. A former student of Livonia Elementary and North Central High School, Kimberley was a mother to four children. Her life took a dark turn, leading to her untimely death and the subsequent arrest of her husband.
On March 21, 2016, Kimberley's body was discovered in a spillway canal in St. Landry Parish, near the town of Palmetto.
An investigation by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office was promptly launched. The coroner's office later confirmed that the cause of her death was two gunshot wounds to the head. As detectives delved into her life, they uncovered a history of a contentious and abusive relationship with her 52-year-old husband, Sam Clark, Jr.
The investigation quickly centered on Clark as the primary suspect. Within about a week of his wife's body being found, investigators brought him in for questioning. During the interrogation, Sam Clark, Jr. confessed to the crime. He admitted to shooting Kimberley on the levee bridge of the spillway where he then disposed of her body in the canal below. Following his confession, he was arrested and booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail. He was charged with second-degree murder, and no bond was immediately set.
