A verbal altercation on a Sunday afternoon in Baton Rouge tragically escalated, leaving a young woman dead. De Shannon Browder, a 22-year-old female, was shot multiple times on May 15, 2016, following a dispute. The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Marque Ann Drive. Browder was quickly transported to a local hospital for her injuries but ultimately succumbed to the wounds.
The Baton Rouge Police Department swiftly identified a suspect in the fatal shooting.
An arrest warrant was issued for 23-year-old Kiera Turner. Investigators believed that Turner shot Browder multiple times after they had a verbal disagreement. The search for Turner did not last long, as she turned herself in to the authorities on the Tuesday morning following the shooting.
Upon her surrender, Kiera Turner was arrested and faced serious charges for her alleged role in De Shannon Browder's death. The charges brought against her were second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
