Devon Martes, a 17-year-old African American male, died on July 27, 2016, in Metairie, Louisiana. The incident occurred when Jefferson Parish deputies responded to reports of suspicious activity near Cleary Avenue and Ford Street. Upon arrival, deputies observed two suspects rolling what appeared to be tire rims in the street.
