In the late afternoon of August 22, 2017, a promising life was cut tragically short in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Briana Hornsby, a 19-year-old African American woman, was driving a vehicle when a thoughtless act by a passenger brought her life to a sudden and violent end. The young woman was behind the wheel in the 10900 block of Florida Boulevard at approximately 5:10 p.m., unaware of the danger that lurked in her own backseat.
