Philip Sherman Whitaker, a 54-year-old man from Diamondhead, Mississippi, was found dead on November 15, 2017, in New Orleans, Louisiana. His body was discovered wrapped in a carpet near the Interstate 10 eastbound on-ramp at Michoud Boulevard. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office confirmed that Whitaker died of a gunshot wound.
