Peter J. Lamb, a 48-year-old male police officer with the New Orleans Police Department, tragically lost his life on July 24, 1900. He was shot and killed while attempting to apprehend a violent suspect. The incident began on July 23, 1900, when three officers approached a man sitting with a friend.
