A 26-year-old Monroe, Louisiana police officer, Chris Beaudion, died in the early morning hours of Sunday, January 7, 2018. The male officer was on duty, driving his patrol car when the fatal incident occurred. For reasons that have not been publicly disclosed, his vehicle veered to the left and collided with a tree.
The impact of the crash was severe, and Officer Beaudion was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been a member of the Monroe Police Department since 2016.
Following the incident, the police initiated an investigation into the accident to determine the cause. An autopsy was also scheduled to be performed.
The Monroe Police Department announced the tragic loss and extended their condolences to his family, which includes his wife and two children. There have been no reports of any arrests or suspects in connection with this incident, as it has been described as a single-vehicle wreck.
