Derrick Cowart, a 20-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on November 13, 2021, in Monroe, Louisiana. According to reports, Derrick was killed in a shooting that occurred on Magnolia Street. The Monroe Police Department responded to the incident shortly after 11 p.m. on the night of the shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Derrick inside the residence, where he had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
