On the evening of February 23, 2023, a dispute in Monroe, Louisiana, escalated to a fatal conclusion, ending the life of 34-year-old Ladarius 'Red' Bradley. That day, Monroe Police were called to the scene of a shooting where they discovered Bradley in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to an eyewitness account, the incident began with an argument between Bradley and two other men, identified as Kevin Barry and Rodrick Bass.
The verbal confrontation tragically escalated when both Barry and Bass allegedly began shooting at Bradley. The altercation resulted in Bradley's death, a loss that was later acknowledged in his obituary. He was lost to gun violence on that day.
In the months that followed, law enforcement officials made progress in the investigation. Rodrick Bass was apprehended and arrested in July of that year. A second suspect, Kevin Barry, was taken into custody in September. Both men were charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Ladarius Bradley.
