In the early evening hours in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a friendly game of dominoes turned into a scene of violence that claimed the life of 56-year-old James Young and left another man critically injured. The two men were outside a residence in the 1700 block of North 47th Street when an individual approached them and opened fire. The sudden eruption of gunfire shattered the quiet atmosphere of the neighborhood, leaving one man dead and another fighting for his life.

Their efforts led them to identify a suspect in the case. Following the investigation, authorities apprehended Willie Mitchell, 40, in connection with the fatal shooting.
Mitchell was taken into custody and transported back to East Baton Rouge Parish to face charges for his alleged involvement in the incident. He was charged with first-degree murder for the death of James Young and attempted first-degree murder for the shooting of the second victim.
