Jermaine Joseph Mitchell, a 44-year-old African American man, tragically lost his life on the morning of May 24, 2018, in New Orleans, Louisiana. At approximately 8:00 a.m., officers from the New Orleans Police Department were dispatched to the 3000 block of Touro Street following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Mitchell lying face down on the sidewalk portion of a driveway, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
