In the early evening hours of February 26, 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the calm in the 2900 block of Conti Street in New Orleans, leaving a scene of tragedy that would claim three lives. Among the victims was Donald Roberts Jr., a 39-year-old man from the city. The violent encounter also resulted in the deaths of 15-year-old Heaven Nettles and 56-year-old Marvin Pepp.
