On March 16, 2019, 65-year-old Denise Griffin Dyson, a Caucasian female from Merryville, Louisiana, was fatally shot. Authorities identified her brother, David Griffin, as the primary suspect in the homicide. Following the incident, law enforcement tracked David Griffin to a motel in Kirbyville, Texas. Upon attempting to apprehend him, officers discovered that he had died by suicide.
