On a summer day in Sorrento, Louisiana, the life of 36-year-old Shondrica Dejoie came to a tragic and violent end. On July 5, 2016, a devastating series of events unfolded, leaving a community in shock and a family shattered. Ms. Dejoie, a mother, was shot and killed while sitting in her vehicle on the side of Highway 22 at the Interstate 10 overpass.
