Latoya Wheeler, a 36-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on August 1, 2018, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was found with a gunshot wound to her abdomen inside a home on Alston Street. Despite being rushed to University Health hospital, she succumbed to her injuries. The incident occurred just before 8:00 p.m., and the Shreveport Police Department responded promptly to the scene.
