Death by Force

Vontashia Bell, an 18-year-old Black transgender woman, was tragically killed on August 30, 2018, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Bell was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the Cedar Grove neighborhood, a predominantly Black area of Shreveport. She was discovered lying on the street by police officers responding to a shooting call made by a nearby resident. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Bell succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.
